Bronze Goddess Tinted Lip Balm Recipe

Bronze Goddess Tinted Lip Balm Recipe

Good Arvo Bloggee’s and Bloggette’s!  How the devil are ya?

Today I have a most wonderful lip balm recipe for you inspired by the coming of Spring (yay!). Its called Bronze Goddess Tinted Lip Balm and I think you’re going to love it! It is super moisturising and will leave a subtle bronze tint on your lips so pucker up and enjoy! 🙂

You will need:

A suitable lip balm tube or pot to put your lip balm in

2 tsp. beeswax
2 1/2 tsp. coconut oil
1/2 tsp. cocoa butter
1 tsp. mango butter
1/2 tsp. vitamin E oil
1/2 tsp. castor oil
1 tsp. sweet almond oil
1 tsp. kukui nut oil
1 tsp. aloe vera oil
1/4 tsp. amber mica powder

A few drops of an Essential Oil (try to stay away from using Citrus Oils though as most are photosensitive which means that they are sensitive to the exposure of sunlight)

Directions:

Combine all butters and oils in a double boiler and melt them over gentle heat. Once all ingredients have melted remove pot from heat. Add essential oil if desired and then add the amber mica. Stir to blend well. Pour the mixture into pots or tubes. Let them cool and set.

Hi All!

I hope that whatever you did this weekend, it was a memorable one.
I had a nice relaxing weekend at home with my boyfriend. We watched loads of episodes of Breaking Bad (love it!) and my sister stayed over on Friday night and brought her freshly baked banana and walnut loaf with her. Mmmmm!

I spent at least 4 hours on Sunday morning working on product photography but in the end I wasn’t happy with any of the images as they all had a blue tint to them (probably something to do with the camera settings), alas I will have to do them all again – what fun! (not).

I am in 4 Treasurys this week! The first one is entitled “I’m not always a pink kind of girl” – which I can vouch for as I’m not a particularly pinky girl either, however I do like blood red, ox red, burgundy (all very similar I know, hehe) and blush pink and they all feature in this lovely treasury. My blush pink candle “Anniversary” is featured here.

Natural Skincare Ingredients Properties

Natural Skincare Ingredients Properties

DO you know what’s in YOUR skincare products? Are your skincare products full of mumbo jumbo chemically produced names that you’ve never heard of and don’t occur in nature? Are you being tricked by marketing spiel to buy extortionately priced beauty products that are not infact very good for your skin at all?

Well, we are going to reveal exactly what’s in our body cream right now AND tell you why these ingredients should be used in your skincare regime!

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender has a soothing and calming effect on the senses, with a beautiful, delicate sweet-dry-herbaceous note that blends with most essential oils, particularly citrus oils. It is a natural antiseptic, and can be used neat on the skin to heal and help to prevent scarring. Lavender Oil helps to eradicate common skin afflictions such as psoriasis, acne, oily skin, sunburn, bites and stings. One of the most versatile of the essential oils, it’s scent is pleasing to most people and is often used in both men and women’s perfume.

Shea Butter

Shea Butter is grown in West Africa and is considered to be one of the best all round natural body healers. Shea Butter is a creamy and richly moisturising butter, with Vitamin E and D and essential fatty acids. A powerful antioxidant, with UV protection, it is skin strengthening and protecting, collagen production stimulating, and makes the skin smooth, supple and radiant.

Beeswax

Beeswax is a natural wax produced by bee’s in there hive and has a variety of uses and benefits. An effective anti-bacterial, with emollient, emulsifying, moisturising and antiseptic qualities with an instantly recognisable creamy honey-like scent.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera gel is extracted from the Aloe Vera plant and is a beauty, skin and hair miracle!
It can be used to treat scalds, soothe burns, reduce tissue damage, relieve insect bites or stings, work as a fast absorbing skin moisturiser, prevent scarring and stretch marks, brighten the skin by reducing pigmentation and dark spots and aid the hair in growing, making it stronger, smoother and silkier.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a fat soluable antioxidant. Aiding in healing the skin, protection from the sun, regenerating skin cells, retaining the skins natural moisture levels and making dull, dry hair look healthier and shinier.

All of these amazing natural ingredients can be benefited from in our new product: Skin Silk Shea Body Butter – If you want skin that you never thought was possible without paying out excessive amounts of money for lotions and potions that are chemically produced and have hardly any health benefits whatsoever then should try this: A completely natural, skin regenerating body butter using some of natures finest ingredients, with the beautiful, uplifting scent of Lavender.

Skin Silk Shea Body Butter comes in a stunning blush pink frosted glass container. Glass containers are best for protecting cosmetic creams from light oxidation and sunlight thus assisting with prolonging the shelf life of your products and we aim to use them to store all of our skincare products.

I missed you!

I missed you!

I’m back because I missed ya! And I felt terribly guilty about being away for so long..actually, how long has it been? a week? 2? – no, I think it was just a week, nevertheless I figured it was high time to check in with you. So here I am! And how are you? What’s been going on? How has your week been?? Are you looking forward to the Bank Holiday?

As for me, I’ve been preparing for my holiday to Ibiza next week (I know, lucky me huh!), working on repricing, designing product labels, starting on my Aromatherapy candle range and trying out a few different Body Butter recipes, one of which was very successful and will be revealed as soon as I’ve taken some photographs of it. It is called Skin Silk Body Butter, and contains Shea Butter, Aloe Vera and Beeswax. Skin Silk has a decadent, soft, creamy texture that absorbs well into the skin and leaves the skin renewed, refreshed and totally revitalised. Scented with pure Lavender Essential Oil this Body Butter ensures that your skin is kept 100% free of harmful chemicals and toxins and is a completely guiltfree way of spoiling yourself (and your skin!)

My friend pointed out the other day that she had an allergy to Shea Butter and Monoi De Tahiti so I’ve decided to offer a range of Body Butters using different butters including Cocoa Butter (which I’m working on now), Coconut Oil, Coffee Butter, Mango Butter and perhaps even Pistachio Butter also. One for everyone! 🙂

A song for you! Enjoy!

Organic Bulgarian Rose Face Cream

Organic Bulgarian Rose Face Cream

Rose Water face-cream

Currently I am working on creating a luxury face cream, a natural alternative, naturally! These days most of the big cosmetic giants find it only too easy to throw together a few ill researched, badly formulated synthetic ingredients, masked with a sweet cloying fragrance and then charge you extortionate amounts to buy it. Well no more I say! No more! My face cream will not only be effective, but use 100% natural ingredients and have a unique, pure and gently fragrant scent. The main ingredients in my face cream will be:

Organic Bulgarian Rose Water
Properties:
Acne preventing, anti inflammatory, balancing, anti-aging, cleansing and detoxifying with genuine, rose scented distilled water taken from Rose Flowers.

Vitamin E
Properties:
Anti-oxidant, protects against UV radiation, excellent moisturiser, anti-inflammatory, wound healing, anti-aging.

Grapeseed Oil
Properties:
High in polyunsaturates, helps to tone and tighten skin, good for oily skin and acne, antioxidant, skin moisturising.

Sweet Almond Oil
Properties:
Includes Vitamins A, B and C, easily absorbed, good for dry, sensitive skin and eczema, can provide relief from muscle pain, improves complexion, a good skin lubricant and can help with itching and inflammation.

Essential Oils
As you know, all Essential Oils have Therapeutic Properties, some more then others. In addition to there health benefits they are also aromatic compounds and provide enjoyment, relaxation and sensuality through there aroma’s. For my skin cream I am considering making a Rose & Bergamot scented face cream or perhaps even Geranium.

Rose Absolute
Properties:
Anti-depressant, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, bactericidal, anti-viral.

Bergamot Essential Oil
Properties:
Anti- depressant, used in the treatment of eczema, psoriasis, antiseptic, anti-biotic.

Geranium Essential Oil
Properties:
Uplifting, balancing, helps in the treatment of acne, bruises, burns, cuts, poor circulation, sore throat.

I might also include the wonder-gel Aloe Vera in my recipe to restore, cleanse, soothe and promote skin renewal.

My facial cream will be 100% natural and organic, using a vegan emulsifying wax to bind the oils and water together and excluding synthetic preservatives. This means that the expiry date on them
won’t be as long as most store bought creams but you will be able to refrigerate them to extend there lifespan and you’ll feel great knowing that this has been made freshly for you, with ingredients that are completely safe to use on your skin, and as they won’t be extortionately priced you will be able to buy more when yours runs out without breaking the bank. Each batch will be made fresh to order.

Once I have sourced the correct packaging, I am thinking perhaps a frosted glass jar like my body souffle’ kilner jars, I will have it up on notonthehighstreet available for you to buy!
