A Workshop for Perfume Lovers

It’s not always easy to find a fragrance that smells good on you. And what smells good on someone else may not smell good on you at all. That’s because the ph balance on everyone’s skin is unique to them which is why bespoke fragrances are such a necessity, rather then a luxury, for perfume lovers.

But having a bespoke fragrance is prohibitively expensive for most people (me included). A bespoke fragrance can start from around £5,000 and that’s a very conservative figure, generally, they are in the thousands. And it’s not enough to simply offer a pre-mixed base, as that isn’t really a bespoke perfume. There are a lot of companies out there who promise a true personalised perfume but then make you choose from pre-made blends that have been made by a perfumer which they then label as bespoke. Well it’s not.

A bespoke perfume is one that takes into consideration, not just your likes, but your dislikes, the way you want the perfume to make you feel, or who you want your perfume to make you become. Because perfume also has the ability to transform a person, to make them become the person they want to be – to play a role.

It is this transformational power that makes it not just mysterious, but powerful too.

Since most of us cannot afford the luxury of a signature scent, perhaps a beautiful compromise is to attend a perfume workshop and make your own?

Our next perfume workshop, where we will be teaching delights of Oriental Perfumes, will be on Saturday 27th May.
