Make your own DIY Toner

Make your own DIY Toner

Check out this easy-peasy natural skincare recipe that you can make quite easily at home using just a few key ingredients.

Toners are a form of gentle skin hydration that is used after the removal of makeup which can sometimes strip the skin of its natural oils and moisture. Toners act as the much needed hydration and refreshment of the skin after makeup remove and before your moisturisers is applied. It’s a simple but effective way of making sure your skincare regime is a pure as it can be.

Here is an recipe for a skin toner that’s especially good for hydration

You will need:

  1. 1/4 Cup Tap Water
  2. 1 Tablespoon Witch Hazel
  3. 1/2 Teaspoon Vegetable Glycerin
  4. 5 drops clary sage (salvia sclarea) essential oil
  5. 5 drops grapefruit (citrus paradisi) essential oil
  6. 5 drops german chamomile (matricaria recutita)

First: Boil the water rapidly for around 3 minutes to sterilise, then cool. Combine all of the ingredients together in a small spray bottle and shake together to blend. To use, shake well then spray directly onto clean skin or on a cotton wool pad and apply. Follow up with a good moisturiser.

You can also change the essential oils used in this blend but try to stay away from citrus oils as they can irritate sensitive skin.

Enjoy! and do let me know how you get on with it, I’m always happy to hear from you 🙂
