Forgive me if I bore you…

Forgive me if I bore you…

BUT¬†I really must tell you again how amazed I am that I’d never heard of this vision board thing before! Ever since I found out (only yesterday!) how to create one I have been making them like crazy! I think I’m seriously addicted ūüôā

I also signed up to Polyvore (which I’d initially assumed was just a shopping site), and I created a collection,¬†including my Reed Diffuser¬†which you can see here: http://www.polyvore.com/rosegold/collection?id=4017934

Alas I haven’t quite worked out how to create and share a vision board created on Polyvore. When I do you’ll be the first to know!

Look see, at my creativityy! ūüôā

I know I’m late!

I know I’m late!

But I’ve only just learnt how to do¬†THIS: ¬† Fashion Collage This is my very first vision board and I’m really quite chuffed with it. I came across this website: http://www.picmonkey.com¬†¬†which allows you to create your very own vision board with a selection of images or you can use your own. It’s great fun as it allows you to put all your favourite things together to create a collage. You can edit the images and add different affects¬† aswell as add text too. I’m hooked! ūüôā Initially I was looking for something that I’d be able to use to promote my products in a more visually stimulating way and I think I’ve now found just the thing. Now all I need to do is learn how to take better photography! ha!

And¬†now I’m addicted! Look See:

This week we’ve been featured on a wonderful blog called Rules of a Lady, cool name huh?!

Rules of a Lady is a young, fashion forward lifestyle blog created by Italian blogger Silvia Cavagnini. She is big into fashion, lifestyle, interior design and infact anything beautiful and unusual and she contacted me recently about doing a collaboration with her. She looks for products that she really likes on websites such as Etsy (where she found me), and then she contacts companies about doing a feature on them. I just happened to be one of the lucky ones. She was particularly taken with my Coconut & Musk Soy candle and my RoseGold Reed Diffuser. A few weeks ago I sent her my very favourite soy candle Apple Blossom and Pear and my Luxury Grapefruit Bath Salts to review and she took a picture of it and left a review here:

I made it to the Top of the Rock!

I made it to the Top of the Rock!

San 22 Hi There Bloggees and Bloggettes! How the devil are ya?! I’m back from my holiday on the beautiful island on Santorini in Greece and am feeling most relaxed and contented! I spent a¬†wonderful couple of days there sampling the local cuisine, enjoying the beautiful¬†scenery, sightseeing, shopping and even climbing up a mountain (well perhaps¬†not a mountain but a very very large rock!). As you can see here, I’m looking quite chuffed with myself ūüôā San 33 I really enjoyed it in Santorini, and thought that the sunsets in particular were simply breathtaking. Highly recommended!

Natural Winter Hair Remedy

Natural Winter Hair Remedy

shikakai powdercoconut milk

I’m being¬†perfectly honest when I tell you that my hair has never felt cleaner since I stopped using store bought, chemical inclusive¬†hair shampoos and started¬†making my own natural hair care. And I could also argue¬†that my hair has¬†never looked better, but that could be a matter of opinion ūüėČ

I am always on the lookout for natural ingredients that have beneficial properties to health and skincare and as such I have been looking specifically for some really good hair conditioner recipes. I was using Coconut Oil previously, but I feel it can be a little drying and could do with some jazzing up.

Recently I came across some Natural Hair Conditioner recipes, with interesting ingredients¬†that I’d like to try out¬†within the next couple of weeks. As I’m going on holiday tomorrow and won’t be back for another week I’ll need to do one of the conditioner recipes tonight after I have washed my hair with my tried and tested Basic Hair Shampoo Recipe: https://silklafox.wordpress.com/2014/09/16/basic-natural-hair-shampoo-recipe/ .

Coconut Milk & Shikakai Deep Conditioner

Ingredients

1 Cup (or Can) Organic Coconut Milk

2 Tbsp Shikakai Powder

2 Tbsp Olive Oil (or Avocado Oil)

2 Tbsp Jojoba Oil (or Sweet Almond Oil)

2 Tbsp Manuka Honey

A few drops of Essential Oils (optional)

Shikakai Powder (also known as Acacia Concinna), is a natural fruit powder originating from the Acacia tree found in parts of Asia. Shikakai means “fruit for hair”, and has been used as a natural hair¬†ingredient in India for centuries. Shikakai is a result of the fruit pods, leaves and bark being ground into a fine powder, which is then made into a¬†paste.¬†¬†It has a ton of benefits, including:

  • Nourishing hair, promoting hair growth & strength
  • Gentle on the scalp and hair
  • Prevents and eliminates dandruff
  • Works well both as a shampoo and in a conditioner (the paste like texture gives it lathering capabilities)
  • Strengthens¬†and moisturises the hair
  • Can also be used as a body wash and face cleanser
  • Doesn’t strip the hair of it’s natural oils
  • Helps protect the hair from fungal infections (and lice)

This product sounds like an absolute god send! I haven’t managed to get my mitts on it yet as Holland and Barretts don’t stock it and Whole Foods only have the capsules but when I do oh boy will I be making good use of it! V Excited. Coupled with the¬†properties of¬†Coconut Milk which soothes the scalp and provides softness¬†and deep conditioning, I think this is going to be a very good conditioner indeed.

Recipe number 2..

Coconut Milk, Shea Butter & Honey Conditioner

Ingredients

1/4 Can Coconut Milk

1 Tsp Whipped Shea Butter

1 Tbsp Manuka Honey

1 Tbsp Olive Oil (or Avocado)

1 Tbsp Jojoba Oil (or Sweet Almond)

2 Tsp Vegetable Glycerin

A few drops of Essential Oils (optional)

I can’t tout the goodness of Manuka Honey enough – I use it¬†in my face¬†cleanser, moisturiser,¬†hot oil conditioner¬†and in my bentonite clay & honey face mask: https://silklafox.wordpress.com/2014/08/15/bentonite-clay-manuka-honey-face-mask-recipe/. It can be used in a variety of different¬†recipes so it is a highly recommended investment – and it IS an investment. I had to pay ¬£31 for 250 grams! Try it out for yourself and see what you think. See you in a week! ūüôā

framestr

The definition of Cool.

Recently, I was contacted by the co-founder of a new social e-commerce website called Framestr. He had seen some of my products on Ezebee (www.ezebee.com) and wanted me to join them and make my products available for sale on their site. The concept of Framestr is pretty simple: You upload your products (or there wizard can copy your information from another e-commerce site), and then you can use their site as a platform to encourage users to share and promote your products. If you make a sale as a result of their efforts, they (meaning the user) make a commission on the sale. Simples!

The beauty of it is that Framestr have no fees and YOU set the commission rate on each product, so everybody benefits. Genius or what?!

Apparently Oprah and VOGUE are both fans. I have signed up as I think it’s great and I really see¬†it going global.

It’s a work in progress at the moment but you can see my store here: http://framestr.com/thesecretscentsociete
